Recycling Information

Residential Recycling of Texas, Inc. is proud to offer its service to our residents! The cost is $15.00/month for curb side service once a week. There is a one-time $10.00 service charge for the recycling bin. Billing is by subscription in advance to the homeowners address on a quarterly basis. When : Pickup day will be Tuesday of each week – Please have recycle bins out by 7:00 a.m.

First pickup date will be June 3, 2008.

Holidays observed are: New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4 th July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day. If holiday falls on scheduled service day, service will resume the following week on regular scheduled day.

Items Accepted:

PAPER

(Please place in a separate paper bag, eliminates wind blowing it around, do not put in plastic bags)

Newspaper, magazines, catalogs, annual reports

Clean pizza boxes, soda and beer boxes

Envelopes, junk mail, paper bags

White, colored and fax paper

Telephone books, paper egg cartons

Carbonless forms, tissue role cores

Shredded paper strips – (please tie tight in plastic bag)

CARDBOARD

(Please breakdown larger boxes)

Corrugated cardboard boxes, cereal, food, detergent, pet food, etc.

METAL

(Please rinse out prior to placing in bin, food can contaminate recycling)

Soda, juice, and beer aluminum cans

Tin/steel food & pet food cans

Aluminum foil, pie pans, and trays

Metal jar lids

PLASTIC CONTAINERS

(Check for recycling seal #1- #7, please rinse and remove the lid)

Milk, juice and cooking oil jugs

Soda & water bottles

Dish, shampoo, lotions, soap bottles

Bleach & detergent containers

Household cleaning containers

Butter & ice cream tubs

Yogurt cups & microwave trays

Clean plastic flower pots

THIN PLASTIC

Grocery store bags, dry cleaning bags, produce bags, plastic sleeve from newspaper

Items not accepted at this time:

Glass (maybe in the future)

Styrofoam

Computer Parts

Batteries

Medical Waste

Biohazard

PAPER not accepted : Milk/juice paperboard cartons, disposable diapers, food-encrusted pizza boxes, cereal box liners, food/seed bags, photographs, foil greeting cards, slick-coated frozen food boxes, tissue paper, foil gift wrap, hardback books, Tyvek envelopes, food contaminated paper plates, cups and napkins.

METALS not accepted : Paint and aerosol containers, pesticide & chemical containers, oil filters & batteries, syringes & needles.

PLASTICS not accepted : anti-freeze & motor oil containers, pesticide & chemical containers, plastics with #6 symbol, plastics with no recycling symbol, orange prescription pill bottles, toys, laundry baskets, and unsanitary containers.
